Some hard evidence for the skeptics
Covid boosters increase protection against death from the Omicron variant to 95% in people aged 50 or over, the UK Health Security Agency said. The UKHSA said that around six months after a second dose of any of the Covid vaccines, protection against death with Omicron was around 60% in those aged 50 and over. However, this increased to around 95% two weeks after receiving a booster vaccine dose. UKHSA added that data continued to show high levels of protection against hospitalisation from the booster. Effectiveness against hospitalisation was around 90% for the Pfizer/BioNTech shot , dropping to 75% 10-14 weeks after the booster.For Moderna, effectiveness against hospitalisation was 90-95% up to 9 weeks after the booster. “The evidence is clear - the vaccine helps to protect us all against the effects of Covid-19 and the booster is offering high levels of protection from hospitalisation and death in the most vulnerable members of our society,” said Dr Mary Ramsay, head of immunisation at UKHSA.

Is Russia an enemy? Is China? Are their citizens being told the same thing as us but the other way around? Are we a democratic state (just one rock per 5 years) is the control of the media fair here as opposed to there. Look at the Tory’s attempting to kill the BBC and or Mr Murdoch deciding the last few elections by himself…
Don’t kid yourself we in the UK are somehow fairer than others, everyone and every country are playing the same crap game as we do, you as the voter are just fodder to convince and recently North Korea has been looking a lot fairer than the UK

As the "Sputnik" vaccine is identical to the AZ vaccine developed by Russian scientists from allegedly stolen scientific data, I'm not surprised it works. As a footnote, they did not appear to do Phase 3 trials, instead gave it to the Russian population after Phase 2.
I would caution on the vaccine data, on which everyone now seems "expert". Ask yourself several questions - where was it published? Who sponsored the trial/data? Is it peer reviewed? Is it statistically significant? That might help sort out the rubbish from the worthwhile.
The data shows all the Covid vaccines are highly protective. Much more so than the flu vaccine. I note Laurence Fox is putting his extensive knowledge of Biology into the media re his Covid infection and vaccination. Alas, Biology is now subsuming into right and left wing politics. Viruses don't vote. The simple fact (proven by masses of peer reviewed statistically significant data) is that the risk to your health (death or serious damage) is far less from taking the vaccine, than catching Covid. The risk benefit ratio doesn't shift into balance until you reach children of about 12 years of age. For those who don't want to be vaccinated, I'm reminded of the Dirty Harry quote "do I feel lucky? Well do you punk"?.
PS Fox is using a drug called ivermectin. One of the real miracles of the pandemic was the emergence of British developed groundbreaking, very fast, treatment result research, This has shown which ones work and this has saved, literally, thousands of lives. This research has shown that hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin work no better than placebo. Keep up Mr Fox, you're taking a veterinary treatment for worms, which will have no affect on your illness and could make you worse, if you have side effects.
