Three Random Questions
- Local Resident (6th Jul 2022 21:23:07)
Three questions that I hope someone on here might be able to answer for me...?
What is it with the white doves in the Village? Roosting on the Living Room Cinema late one night last week. Are they feral? Have they escaped from somewhere?
Why have cameras on poles been erected around the village centre?
And does anyone know what is happening with the ‘development’ opposite the Green Dragon?
Thanks...!

Question 3, 2 new retail units with flats above and new houses to rear
Question 2, probably traffic survey for village plan
Question 1, don’t know but along with pigeons seem to have been a population explosion, need a cull!

Excellent - thank you!
The dove question still left unanswered, people. They can't just have turned up. There would be no logic in that.
And I suppose my question about the development site was also to do with time frames, as it seems to have sat idle for several years. I guess Covid will have put the brakes on.

With regards the doves they have been around for many years
Think there may have been a dovecote formely maybe Chiltley Manor? They look far lovelier to me than pidgeons

Leave those doves alone , sung by Pink Floyd. They are residents of Liphook too.

Agreed with A.R! These lovely doves give Liphook a unique feel and are part of our community too! They were living on the roof of the now cinema building before it was repurposed. I feel bad that the construction work not only changed their home but now all the trash and wires get tangled up in their feet ):

you are quite right AJ, the building should have been left in its derelict state just so the doves had their homelife undisturbed. Thoughtless owners

I found an injured dove and took it to Hydestiles a few years ago, he told me it was not a dove at all but just your bog standard feral pigeon in white overalls. Personally I love them and a cull is not necessary judging by how many people run them over on the London Road
