Not exactly fly tipping . . .but - Paul Robinson (26th Jul 2022 06:48:37)
How often have you walked past a charity shop where the doorway is stacked with bags of unwanted clothes and boxes of toys, when there is clearly shown a notice requesting that no deposits should be left in the doorway when the shop is closed. ?
Who was it that, this week, half filled one of the Sainsburys recycling bins dedicated to cardboard, paper and plastic waste, with several large bags of unwanted clothing. Could it be the same person who left a child's push chair at the same spot ?
Who was it that dumped a child's car seat outside the Liphook Day Centre last week with a note attached saying it had not been in an accident? If you want to check out the wisdom of using a second hand car seat go to [ah]www.safekids.org/blog/it-okay-use-second-hand-car-seat[t]www.safekids.org/blog/...[c]
Yes Paul quite agree everyone seems to be in a mighty hurry not a minute to live. If the shops are shut can’t come back don’t have time is the attitude. You only have to see them tearing through the square at break neck speeds to get somewhere important?.? . The World has gone mad .

Could part of the reason for these actions is if you want to dispose of items properly at the dump you have to book in advance and people can't be bothered.

Ah - AF continuing the haranguing of the current policy of pre-booking for the local dumps.
As they say - the old ones are the best, but it would be nice to hear some new stuff
Just been on a litter pick and picked up a depressing amount of rubbish along Haslemere Road and London Road.
Mostly chocolate and crisp wrappers and lots and lots of cigarette packets…
Still, good for exercise.
AF I don't think pre-booking at the dump has anything to do with this. The stuff people give to charity shops is usually much too good for the tip where it will be destroyed. The items people give to charity shops IMO are hopefully going to be of use to another person.

I have thought of another reason the charity shops have so many donations that if you go when the shop is open they will refuse to take things if they need sorting into sellable / not sellable and they have to pay someone to dispose of things they think will not sell so it is easier for someone to just leave when they are closed.
