Hi Lew,
You could use your evenings productively, and with financial reward online.
Set up a simple contact and email website, and offer for a fee negotiated, projects with your skill base in engineering, and mechanical electrical knowledge.
Use all Social media channels to advertise your skills and knowledge including Linked-In.
Also include Facebook, YouTube, (how to solve practical problems) TikTok etc.
Putting your self out there to a wider audience to a industry you know, can be very beneficial, to you and your income.
It may seem a little daunting to start an online presence, but just take your time. Learn, (it is not a race), and enjoy your success in life for something you have passion.

Whilst I can see the benefit of part time self employed work Lew is constrained in his working slots to after 6 pm as he wants to do 2 jobs. You cannot be so prescriptive when self employed to limit all client contact to post 6 pm ?

Best of luck with your search. Very good to see someone with a bit of go wanting to get on in life. I have always told my grandchildren there are 24hrs in a day you sleep 8 hrs you work 8 hrs and it depends what you do with the other 8hrs how you get on in life.

Thanks Paul some sound advice, ive dabbled a little in some small CNC and 3d printing projects through word of mouth not really for profit but to help me learn on a small CNC machine i have for personal projects. There could be some scope online to help people online with various STEM projects. ill take a look in various social media pages i follow. as a side note i think the web page development could be a fun skill to learn and dabble in!
