Hello All,
The future of the carnival depends on local support in order for it to continue.
There is a meeting at the Links on Monday 15th August at 19:00. Please put it in your diary and attend if you are able to support.
Liphook is the most populated it has ever been, we cannot let this 120 year tradition fold on our watch.
Please put the word out.
(I am not the organiser of the meeting, please see post on Liphook Facebook community board)

The carnival committee might get a better response if they did not restrict themselves to private social media groups.

Hi,
Typical negative Liphook comment reply to a very worthy village tradition, enjoyed by families, and children for years..
This is for the generations, and help raise charity for needy local causes.
What ever form of communication to raise awareness to locals of a need and help, does not always have to be the medium of the Internet
.
There are many different ways we get the message out there to our people, as we did successfully before technology, and enjoyed it.

My point is this, Paul:- Liphook Community Board is a private group which is not accessible by everyone. Requests to join are approved or rejected by the administrators, much in the same way as joining a working men's club or the Freemasons (I use both as an example so I can't be accused of having any social prejudice.) This website, however, is open to everyone which means a wider audience. Not just the people the Liphook Community Board approve of.
I'm sorry you think it necessary to be rude.
