Yet more McD’s litter
- C (4th Apr 2023 06:45:09)
Yes I bang on about it,
No, it’s not McDonalds fault
And of course, people will come back with arguments
…but ONE DAY after the litter pickers made our village look so beautiful some knuckleheads have thrown McDs litter about once every three metres down Haslemere Road (now safely in bin).
I have a copy of the receipt and will report to McDonalds but doubt anything will come of it.
And I’m aware there was litter before McDonalds but I have personally testify that there is now a greater quantity than before - now often milkshake cups and Big Mac boxes.
How pathetic some people don’t know how bins work!

It`s a shame with modern technology of today that car registrations are not printed/coded onto McDonalds packaging, therefore being able to trace the idiots who throw their McDonalds rubbish onto pavements, kerbsides etc etc.

The idea of printing number plates on packaging has been explored by I think the Welsh govt and didn’t get far, people don’t want their personal details used like this, and if it happened they would just go to another retailer whom doesn’t print it.. also they can avoid the drive thru, pick up in store and walk out and still litter.
I don’t believe there is any cases of mc Donald’s being fined for litter as it’s not the company throwing it away, it’s the customer whom is to blame.
Can’t see you getting very far associating the name of the company to the problem, if the chippy in the village sold as much as mc Donald’s we would have chippy litter showing up.

I think the scheme would cost a lot of money for the policing of it- a team of people everywhere collecting the litter then passing on to the police to follow it up with a prosecution which would cost the tax payer many thousands of pounds to prosecute someone for dropping a paper bag. The police do not even spend money pursuing burglaries.
