Liphook station lifts - Eric Benson (11th Oct 2023 10:42:25)
At Liphook Railway station last night – both of the platform lifts (which have only been in operation for just about two years) were not working. Does anyone know how long this has been the case and why? When did they cease working?
Additionally, the stairs themselves were filthy, cobwebs linking the treads with the risers, they have not been cleaned for some considerable time.
Regards
Eric

The north bound lift was out of order when I went on holiday for a few days at the end of August; I would have expected it to have been fixed by now.

I did point out some time ago the folly of using lifts as the ones Network Rail purchase at millions of pounds often break down. I suggested a ramp up to Midhurst road, ramps don't break down and it would have been cheaper.
In this instance the lifts have been broken for a number of weeks, and it's not the first time.
